Cut 8" out the back last week, just need to cut the bumper out and move it up and cut some panels for where the lights are going to go. I took the rear block out and started taking the cases out today. Will need to have the rear driveline shortened.

Dropped the drive line off today to have it shortened, cut the bumper off and re-welded it back on. I pulled the cases apart the other day and the needle bearings in the adapter went bad which in turn allowed the low range gear in the front case to shift and then break, every gear in the front case is wasted from peices of the low-range gear, the adapter is wasted, and the counter shaft bearing on the rear case is toast.....sent the adapter in today for warranty, they only do warranties on Fridays so I wont get it back for a while. Just got to get a new counter shaft bearing and a front donor case, then clean the rear case cause its full of small metal fragment.

I took the rear blocks out which lowered it down 3". The drive line had 1 3/4" slip and it would almost completely bottom out. After the blocks came out it only had 3/4" slip, so it would have been too short.

I see, wouldn't it have been easier just to put a zero rate in and move the axle back a little bit.

Mabe, wasnt sure if it would have moved it far enough back, I also was thinking that it could possibly cause more axle wrap because of where it sits on the spring. The drive line was pretty marginal as it was, you could see that it used all of the slip already.

This is what I want to do to the rear section of my cage, well similar, I like how the upper side bars bend down and ties into the frame. Finished welding the rear bumper back on.

I'm ready to roll again, just got to flip my rear shifter around so it moves over towards the passenger side a little more. Then just put the panels in for the shifter holes and the shifter boots.

Its almost whole again, I got the knuckles on, knckle gussets on (thanks Popeye and Tyson for the torch usage!!), the ram mount is on. Just have to u-bolt the housing back into place, put the spindles, and hubs back on. So a good solid couple hours.
