Here is something that I have always preached to my buddies (most of them do not). Didn't think to post it till I seen this on a Toyota based site but goes for every rig.
Pre-Trip Check list
Steering Steering arms (80ft lbs.) Cotter pins installed Jam nuts Pitman arm nut (116-137ft lbs.) Steering box bolts Ram assist bolts
Suspension Leaf spring bolts Shackle bolts U-bolts Shock bolts
Link Suspension Creeper Joint jam nuts on links and panhards Creeper Joint bolts on links and panhards
Drive train Drain plugs Differential bolts Driveline bolts Wheels and wheel spacers torqued (90ft lbs)...(Toyota spec on wheels is 76lbs) Exhaust bolts Crossmember bolts Belts Hoses Engine oil Transmission oil Transfer case oil Differential oil Brake fluid Clutch fluid Coolant
One other thing is maintenance, changing diff fluids once in awhile, repacking wheel bearings, squirting some grease where you have zerks....the little things can become BIG things in a hurry and usually when you least expect it. If you can think of anything RIG specific, POST IT.
